The answers to some frequently-asked questions.

What is VACURAL?

VACURAL is a pressure die-casting method in which the entire casting process takes place within a vacuum, including the apportioning of molten metals. VACURAL is especially suited for:

  • components with extremely thin walls
  • pressure-tight components
  • weldable components
  • components with high surface quality demands (e.g. lacquering)
  • components with high stability and ductility demands
  • high dimensional accuracy (near net shape)

Is VACURAL more expensive than other processes?

The requirements which can be met with VACURAL cannot be achieved with traditional die-casting techniques, so comparisons here are not appropriate. However, by comparison with other die-casting processes, VACURAL is particularly economical when it comes to taking advantage of its special features such as:

  • reduced porousness
  • less oxides in the molten cast (solidity, elongation)
  • dimensional accuracy (post processing dispensed with)

Does RITTER ALUMINIUM supply mountable components and subassemblies?

Yes. Thanks to a network of secondary suppliers and co-operation partners we are in a position to do so. In addition to this we have available a variety of competitive NC processing centers, slide grinding and sandblasting plants.

What certification does RITTER have?

Apart from numerous audits from our customers, we have been certified under ISO/TS 16949:2002

Is RITTER capable of carrying out a dialogue with the customers in the most direct and fastest manner using the latest communication methods?

The use of modern communication methods has been a matter of course at RITTER for many years. In the commercial/technical areas, the entire range of SAP/R3 software with the exception of a few modules has been installed at RITTER since 1995 with the corresponding data transmission capabilities (complete order-related data including image transmission). In the area of design/development we use CATIA V4 and V5 and ProEngineer. We can also be contacted at any time via our website and postal address.

Is RITTER in a position to look after its customers in foreign markets and to carry out production there?

An essential component of the corporate strategy is to be present in important markets.
